Excellent Monitor September 3, 2010 Hayden K. Shelton (Ogden, UT USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just got my HP 2509m monitor the other day and I am very happy with it. The picture quality is excellent, and at 25 inches this thing is the perfect size for watching movies and viewing multimedia content. HP has apparently resolved the sticky brand label issue. My unit came with only a paper cutout covering the entire screen and it was very easy to remove, no residue whatsoever. The speakers actually are pretty decent, they sound like those from a high end laptop. Overall I definitely recommend this monitor.
Great monitor August 29, 2010 Jonathan Coleman I ordered this monitor several weeks ago after researching monitors for quite a while. I went to Costo to see if it fit the online descriptions. It has a glossy finish, instead of the typical matte screen on most LCD monitors. I prefer the bright colors that come through on a glossy monitor. It great color quality and looks very similar to the iMac screens in clarity and brightness. I love the 25-inch size. It is terrific monitor. It is hooked up to a Lenovo desktop computer, which uses an HDMI cable to connect to the monitor. I am not using the internal monitor speakers, so I can't comment on that. I have used it for 4 weeks now and highly recommend this monitor.
Great Monitor August 28, 2010 Flint I am a commercial CG artist. I create high quality illustrations and animations. I needed to replace my old 22" CRT monitor. Of course I wanted something a little bit bigger with the same quality. After looking at 24" and 25" monitors on Amazon and reading the reviews, I decided on this monitor. It works perfect for me. I love the crisp and consistent quality. I have nothing but good to say about this monitor. I am a very happy customer.
Great with Macbook Pro -- Make sure to use *Calibration* in Display Preferences August 25, 2010 JBL (Stanford, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Purchased: May 2010 [Relevant usage information: MacBook Pro w/Snow Leopard, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT, digital (DVI) connection] - HELPFUL NOTE FOR APPLE USERS: After plugging in, make sure to go to Display Preferences and select "Calibrate". When the process begins, use the "advanced" options because it appears to do a more refined job at getting the color tone right (though it will take you longer -- about 7 minutes). After following all the directions, everything should appear just dandy. Try comparing window grays on the monitor with window grays on the laptop display. - Have used this display in an office cubicle setting -- very happy after calibrating the color (Apple Preferences can do it for you) - Some people complained about stickers that don't cleanly come off the casing. Mine didn't come with any extra stickers, so it may depend on the batch. - Originally purchased for $227 before taxes on Ben's Bargains website. I also have an Apple 24in LED Cinema Display, which I love, but too expensive to buy two. - Casing is simple and not ostentatious or over-techy (tho the screen size itself is a little showy). - Unless you have a massive desk, I recommend you not buy the larger 27in: the 25in size already looks slightly ridiculous on a fairly large cubicle corner desk. In Sum: After calibrating properly, the screen works very well, is very crisp, and no issues with viewing angle. Even moving between this screen at work and my apple 24in LED at home, there aren't any obvious pain points. The LED screen power-on is totally snappy when I open my laptop (I am using the Macbook Pro's "high" video card setting). At the reduced prices ($227 on Ben's Bargains, $265 on Amazon) this is a wonderful monitor if you are used to the quality of an Apple cinema LED but don't have the cash to max out the quality and reliability of your screen.
Great monitor - help requested August 18, 2010 E. Klein (California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this monitor with my new HP laptop. The screen looks great - looks great while surfing the net and looking at pictures. It looks amazing when I put a DVD movie in. The sounds associated with the monitor isn't very good but who using the speakers on a monitor anyway? The question I have is why do my home movies look like crap?? I get a ton of shadowing when watching home movies or movies I downloaded. Is it the conversion or something?
